Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator’s contact details in the “Information on the controller” section of this privacy policy.

How do we collect your data?

On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form.

Other data is collected automatically or with your consent when you visit the website by our IT systems. This is primarily technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of page access). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.

What do we use your data for?

Part of the data is collected to ensure error-free provision of the website. Other data can be used to analyze your user behavior. If contracts can be concluded or initiated via the website, the transmitted data is also processed for contract offers, orders or other order inquiries.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right at any time to receive free information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you may revoke this consent at any time for the future. Furthermore, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of data protection.

Unless a more specific storage period is specified within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you make a justified request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.

General information on the legal bases of data processing on this website

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and, where special categories of data pursuant to Art. 9 (1) GDPR are processed, on the basis of Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR. In the event of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing also takes place on the basis of Art. 49 (1) (a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is necessary for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if this is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR. Data processing may also be based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases applicable in each individual case are explained in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Recipients of personal data

In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, the transfer of personal data to these external parties is also necessary. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. transfer of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the transfer pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR or if another legal basis permits the transfer of data. When using processors, we only pass on personal data of our customers on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

IF DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6 (1) (E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21 (1) GDPR).

IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects shall have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

Access, rectification and erasure

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free access to your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you contest the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.

  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.

  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 (1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.

SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Encrypted payment transactions on this website

If, after the conclusion of a fee-based contract, there is an obligation to transmit your payment data to us (e.g. account number in the case of a direct debit authorization), this data is required for payment processing.

Payment transactions via the common means of payment (Visa/MasterCard, direct debit) are made exclusively via an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

With encrypted communication, the payment data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

Our internet pages use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are deleted automatically after your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or your web browser deletes them automatically.

Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process, for providing certain functions you have requested (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or for optimizing the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies was requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Which cookies and services are used on this website can be found in this privacy policy.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and version

  • operating system used

  • referrer URL

  • hostname of the accessing computer

  • time of the server request

  • IP address

No merging of this data with other data sources is carried out.

The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – the server log files must be recorded for this purpose.

Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, the information you provide in the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, insofar as your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the requests addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) if this was requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Request by email, phone or fax

If you contact us by email, phone or fax, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request.

The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Registration on this website

You can register on this website to use additional functions on the site. We use the data entered for this purpose only for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.

For important changes, such as changes to the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we use the email address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The processing of the data entered during registration is carried out for the purpose of performing the user relationship established by the registration and, if applicable, for initiating further contracts (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on this website and will subsequently be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website and internet use to the website operator. Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel)

This website uses the visitor action pixel from Meta for conversion measurement. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Meta, the collected data is also transferred to the USA and to other third countries.

This makes it possible to track the behavior of page visitors after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Meta ad. This allows the effectiveness of Meta ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.

The collected data is anonymous to us as the operator of this website; we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Meta so that a connection to the respective user profile on Facebook or Instagram is possible and Meta can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Meta Data Policy (https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/). This enables Meta to place advertisements on Facebook or Instagram pages and on other advertising channels. We as the site operator cannot influence this use of the data.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

We use the advanced matching feature within the Meta Pixel.

Advanced matching enables us to transmit various types of data (e.g. place of residence, federal state, postal code, hashed email addresses, names, gender, date of birth or telephone number) of our customers and prospects collected via our website to Meta. This allows us to tailor our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram even more precisely to people who are interested in our offers. Advanced matching also improves the attribution of website conversions and expands custom audiences.

Insofar as personal data is collected on our website with the help of the tool described here and transmitted to Meta, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). Joint responsibility is limited exclusively to the collection of the data and its transfer to Meta. The processing carried out by Meta after forwarding is not part of the joint responsibility. Our joint obligations have been set out in an agreement on joint processing. The wording of the agreement can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. According to this agreement, we are responsible for providing the data protection information when using the Meta tool and for the data protection-compliant implementation of the tool on our website. Meta is responsible for the data security of the Meta products. Data subject rights (e.g. requests for information) regarding the data processed by Facebook or Instagram can be asserted directly with Meta. If you assert data subject rights with us, we are obliged to forward them to Meta.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum and https://de-de.facebook.com/help/566994660333381.

Further information on protecting your privacy can be found in Meta’s privacy notices: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also deactivate the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function in the ad settings section at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You must be logged in to Facebook for this.

If you do not have a Facebook or Instagram account, you can deactivate usage-based advertising from Meta on the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

The company holds a certification under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Each company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. You can obtain further information from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/4452.

7. Newsletter and postal advertising

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use newsletter service providers as described below to process the newsletter.

Brevo

This website uses Brevo for sending newsletters. The provider is Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany.

Brevo is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organized and analyzed. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored on the servers of Sendinblue GmbH in Germany.

Data analysis by Brevo

With the help of Brevo, we are able to analyze our newsletter campaigns. For example, we can see whether a newsletter message was opened and which links were clicked, if any. In this way, we can determine, among other things, which links are clicked particularly often.

We can also recognize whether certain previously defined actions were carried out after opening/clicking (conversion rate). For example, we can recognize whether you made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter.

Brevo also enables us to divide the newsletter recipients into different categories (“clusters”). The newsletter recipients can be classified by, for example, age, gender or place of residence. In this way, the newsletters can be better adapted to the respective target groups.

If you do not want analysis by Brevo, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message for this purpose.

Detailed information about the functions of Brevo can be found at the following link: https://www.brevo.com/de/newsletter-software/.

Legal basis

Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Storage period

The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter with us or the newsletter service provider and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, insofar as this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements for sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

For details, please refer to Brevo’s privacy policies at: https://www.brevo.com/de/datenschutz-uebersicht/ and https://www.brevo.com/de/legal/privacypolicy/.

Order processing

We have concluded a data processing agreement (AVV) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law that ensures that this provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Newsletter dispatch to existing customers

If you order goods or services from us and provide your email address in the process, this email address may subsequently be used by us to send newsletters, provided that we inform you of this in advance. In such a case, the newsletter will only contain direct advertising for our own similar goods or services. You can cancel the sending of this newsletter at any time. For this purpose, there is a corresponding link in every newsletter. The legal basis for sending the newsletter in this case is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 7 (3) UWG.

After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us in a blacklist to prevent future mailings to you.

Postal advertising

We use your address, in compliance with all legal requirements, for sending postal advertising (postal mailings).

The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in direct advertising pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) in conjunction with Recital 47 GDPR. If corresponding consent was requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time. More specific regulations may be communicated to you as part of data collection and take precedence over this regulation.

Your address remains with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you make a justified request for deletion or revoke your consent to postal advertising, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.

We use the following service provider to send our postal mailings:

YouTube with enhanced privacy

This website integrates videos from the YouTube website. The operator of the website is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When you visit one of our pages on which YouTube is integrated, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. Videos played in enhanced privacy mode are, according to YouTube, not used to personalize browsing on YouTube. Ads served in enhanced privacy mode are also not personalized. No cookies are set in enhanced privacy mode. However, so-called local storage elements are stored in the user’s browser, which, similar to cookies, contain personal data and can be used for recognition. Details on enhanced privacy mode can be found here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780.

Further data processing operations may be triggered after a YouTube video is activated, over which we have no control.

The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If corresponding consent was requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Further information about data protection at YouTube can be found in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

The company holds a certification under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Each company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures. If you have given your corresponding consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, we will pass on your email address to the transport company entrusted with delivery so that it can inform you by email about the shipping status of your order; you can revoke your consent at any time.

Credit checks

In the case of purchase on account or another method of payment where we make advance payment, we may carry out a credit check procedure (scoring). For this purpose, we transmit the data you have entered (e.g. name, address, age or bank details) to a credit agency. Based on this data, the probability of a payment default is determined. In the event of an excessive risk of non-payment, we may refuse the relevant method of payment.

The credit check is carried out on the basis of contract performance (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and for the purpose of preventing payment defaults (legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). If consent has been obtained, the credit check is carried out on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.
